Chef Nelma was born in Angola, Africa. She grew up around coastal African and Mediterranean flavors and has always had a fondness for food. She moved to Houston in 1998. After some soul searching in her early twenties, she ended up at the Art Institute of Houston.

Aside from teaching with CocuSocial, Nelma is a health and wellness chef. Her focus is on empowering others through nutrition as a means of medicine for a healthier lifestyle. Her meal prep company, Naturally Nelma, came from the desire to always be authentic in everything that she does. Be Spiritually, Mentally, Physically and Naturally you.
