I just had a short tour and trial. This is totally 'customized' Korean class, so you or your group can request specific things to learn. COEI is a really nice and clean office/class place in K-Town Broadway. Teachers are great, very educated and professional. I highly recommend if you like to learn about Korea!

Korean is one of the top ten most popular languages in the world today for people trying to learn a second language, and its popularity is only growing. According to the Asian American Federation, over 90,000 Koreans live in New York City, and for many of them, Korean is their primary language. The largest Korean population in NYC is centered in the borough of Queens, followed by Manhattan, then Brooklyn. Korean is a member of the Koreanic language family, the only other member of which is the lesser-known Jeju. Within Korean itself, several dialects can be found as well. In most Korean classes, the Central Korean dialect is taught.

Why You Should Learn Korean in NYC

Virtual Korean Classes & Schools

For every person, there is a different learning style, and nowadays it's relatively easy to find a class that will work for how you learn best. Classes can generally be broken down into in-person and online, but even within each of these categories, there are a number of more specialized modes of delivery.

Online synchronous classes are classes that occur via live video stream, for example, through Zoom. In this mode, you receive live feedback from an experienced instructor, and often you can even chat with your classmates as the class progresses. Online asynchronous classes take place online, usually through a website or web application, but there is no live element to it. You complete assignments at your own pace, though generally speaking you still have to submit assignments by particular dates set by the instructor.

In-person classes are the tried-and-true method of learning in a physical space with an instructor and classmates. Scheduling is important to ensure that classes begin and end on time and that you turn in assignments when they are due. Teaching or lecture sessions in which a knowledge instructor delivers lessons in person form the basis of such classes. One great benefit to in-person classes is the hands-on element that's often included.

Still, in this day and age, time is at a premium, and online Korean classes are convenient for many who want to learn Korean but may not have the time or means to commute long distances. Online classes make it easy to attend from anywhere, even from the comfort of your own home, and there's a wider variety of subject matter in virtual courses. Thankfully CourseHorse makes it easy to find online Korean classes
