Learn to take control of your mold filling simulations, and avoid just using the automatic settings used by the computer! This course introduces the basic concepts of optimizing your mold filling (first stage injection) parameters, and how your gate location can influence your overall process window. From this class, the attendees will be able to quickly, within minutes, evaluate the overall manufacturability of their part design, and what gate location may help allow for the widest process window while achieving their desired aesthetics for their molded part (weld line, air trap locations).
After the class, the attendee will be able to better select initial gate locations for obtaining desirable filling patterns, and starting process parameters (mold and melt temperature, and fill time). The attendee will also be introduced to what results from a mold filling analysis can be used to help achieve a robust process window, and optimize their part design!
Class Topics Include:
- Gate Placement
- Molding Window Analysis
- Mold Filling
