Beth Koloski

Teaches at General Assembly

Beth is a freelance researcher, UX designer, workshop facilitator and founder of the Denver Innovation Company, where she teaches organizations how to apply design thinking. Beth spent 15+ years leading up UX projects, with companies like EffectiveUI and CP+B, for clients like Orbitz, Domino’s, TIAA, FedEx Office and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. If you’ve ever bought a plane ticket from Orbitz or built your own pizza on the Domino’s website, you’ve seen her work in the wild.

Beth has a passion for education. She ran the Education practice at EffectiveUI, where she designed and delivered workshops and educational events across the country. She has also applied and taught design thinking to non-digital problems, researching or working with college admissions officers, independent financial advisors, agricultural workers in Peru, and more.

Beth got her start out in San Francisco in the dot-com boom, where she had a chance to learn UX on the job. She studied English Literature, earning a master’s from NYU. Outside of work, Beth enjoys watching her daughter’s soccer games, gardening, reading and taking the travel trailer out to enjoy lovely Colorado.
