Katharhy Grossman

Teaches at New York Botanical Garden

Born and raised between the Andes and Amazon, Katharhy challenged his indigenous social history, pioneering a carrier in science and entrepreneurship.


His interdisciplinary research integrates soil, microbes, and plant sciences as well as social ecology affiliated at CUNY-Advanced Science Research Center, Plant Science Lab-Lehman College, and The Regenerative Field Institute in Ecuador. He merges western scientific knowledge with local wisdom to further inform agroecosystem health.


His teaching appointments include, but not limited to, Brooklyn College (i.e., geology and environmental science) and Lehman College (i.e., microbiology), as well, GreenThumb (e.g., agriculture and soil sciences).


He co-founded the Andes Agriculture Entrepreneur Initiative in Ecuador and worked with AgriTech/Agribusiness entrepreneurs in NY. He leads K'allam'p Inc, a nonprofit organization, providing STEAM education accessibility to indigenous communities.
