Encaustic is the name for both a wax painting and a painting process involving heat to apply and fuse the medium. The name encaustic comes from the greek enkaustikos which means “to heat” or “to burn”. Heat is used throughout the encaustic painting process to layer and melt the wax elements onto the canvas.
In this class you will guided on the use melting and sculpting colored waxes through a variety of techniques with self-directed final compositions on canvas.
All materials and tools are provided for the completion of up to four canvases depending on complexity. After the class, each student will take the cooled artworks in a provided envelope for safe keeping.
Bringing a bag capable of holding a 3”x14” box is preferred.
In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.
