Xandria Slater

Teaches at Santa Monica College

Xandria Slater has, for many years, had an avid interest in automotive maintenance and repair and knowing how to purchase good used cars. In 2005 she became one of six female graduates out of 52 graduating students at the Automotive Training Center in Los Angeles. Her ATC engine performance training included work on the following systems: lubricating, cooling, fuel, ignition, brakes, electrical and the complete breakdown and rebuilding of engines. Ms. Slater's goal is to encourage women to become comfortable with basic knowledge of their vehicles. Women should at least know how to check air pressure and fluids and, yes, change a tire.
