You have an outline for your brilliant screenplay, or maybe even a first draft. But how do you take it to the next level and turn it into a polished, sellable script? Enter veteran screenwriter Chris Reed (Disney, Touchstone) to help you make your screenplay shine. In this 5-week Los Angeles advanced screenwriting workshop, Chris shares his secrets for creating emotionally compelling stories, engaging characters, and snappy dialogue. Chris will teach you how to craft character arcs, sub-plots, and conflict like a pro. Then, he will screen a movie that exemplifies the subject matter of the night and break it down scene by scene.
With fun in-class exercises, you’ll apply what you’ve learned to your own story. As well, Chris will give you customized homework assignments specific to your screenplay. By the end of the class, you’ll have a much more complete understanding of what makes a great script great and you’ll have made a big dent in your project, whether that’s a detailed outline or a partial draft. Oscar not included.
Note: Bring Laptop if you have one, socks if it is a non-online class as we have a shoes off policy.
